Authentic Japanese-Style Inn “Kusatsu Onsen Kirishimaya Ryokan”
“Kusatsu Onsen Kirishimaya Ryokan” is a traditional Japanese-style inn founded in the Edo period. Despite our inn is located at the center of Kusatsu Onsen Resort where it takes only a three-minute walk to a hot spring source called “Yubatake”, the area surrounding us has an atmosphere of calm with Kakoiyama Park adjacent to us.
We have a natural hot spring whose water flows directly from the source. Our bath tabs called “Siriyaki Bath (Shiriyaki means to burn the hips)” have a structure that makes it easier for you to enjoy effects of hot springs. Please try bathing method that is unique to us.
We have a calm atmosphere inside the building, and you can see beautiful scenery from the window; You can enjoy cherry blossoms in spring. In summer, you can see green of trees, and in autumn, colored leaves can be seen. You can feel at ease in a Japanese-style room while seeing those scenery.
Although we are a traditional inn, we only serve bed and breakfast. Therefore, you can stay with us at an affordable price and that’s our appeal.

About Bathroom
Three-Tired Bathtub
Our bathtub made of a Japanese red pine for which we hold a patent is unique to us. The bathtub is separated into three tiers, and each tiers has different water temperature: high, middle, and low. This system makes the bath just the right temperature for you to soak yourselves into it without diluting the hot water of Kusatsu Onsen whose water temperature of the source is high.

Open-Air Bath
Although the bathtub is small, you can enjoy green landscape from here. Please soak yourselves into the hot water comfortably.
Private Bath
We use a bath whose depth is as same as traditional baths. Two adults can soak in this private bath.
Inside Bath
This is a spacious bath. There are a men’s bathroom and a women’s bathroom and they interchange every day.
Sunny Japanese-Style Rooms
Every room we have are tatami-floored. Also they are sunny since they face south. We prepare tables and chairs at porches, so you can rest there admiring scenery outside the window.

- * Since we are located at 1,200 meters above the sea level, the temperature is low in morning and night even in summer. Please bring warm outfits.
- *Shiga Kusatsu Plateau route is closed during the winter seasons. Depending on the weather, it sometimes may be closed even in other seasons.
